I believe that this song is about DXM addiction. I think this song is about a man that takes drugs and he would like to stop but he can't and he want another spoon of cough syrup(that is usually used as a drug) The cough syrup is more a metaphor for falling in line with society. The lyrics and visuals in the video actually remind me of a DXM trip. I just like the song and lyrics and don't go toward interpretation cause of my age.
