In the case of the great “Come As You Are,” that inspiration was Killing Joke’s song “Eighties.” Cribbing heavily from the tune, Cobain nevertheless proves Oscar Wilde’s evergreen adage: “Talent borrows, genius steals”: “Come As You Are” is one of the most evocative and well-developed songs in Nirvana’s catalog.
