Based on the feature film of the same name, What We Do in the Shadows looks into the daily lives of 4 vampires. Admittedly I'm a big fan of 'Flight of the Conchords' and this film stars Jermaine Clement and features the wonderful Rhys Darby (as the head of the werewolves), but this is simply one of the funniest films I have ever seen. Just when I thought I was burnt out and couldn't stand another cheesy, Twilighty, vampire movie, I finally rented this and it got fangs in deep! Yes I love the directors work - and Flight Of The Conchords - I have to say this film is brilliant at the start - it is a mockumentary, but also very charming. If you are a hard line vampire fan you will find this film very funny. Please keep in mind this movie is not for everyone.

I have started the return process and have had to settle for ordering the Canadian version from Amazing (fulfilled through Amazon) which is an improvement over this travesty but still lacks some of the main bonus material that is included on various over-seas versions (and which were promised here). If only more comedies could be this original, clever and funny. What We Do in the Shadows. It uses the mockumentary style to show you the lives of vampires living in a house-shade in Wellington. It’s not gory and the dialogue is very well written. Cleverly achieved on a low budget, Its all in the script and the brilliant acting and well timed use of effects. I don't normally watch Zombie or vampire films but this sounded a bit "alternative" when it came to our local cinema so I went to watch it.

Ow, it makes my face hurt. Brilliantly written, acted and directed. Fantastic film! Watch or stream it on Foxtel. I would definately recommend this film. I was giggling helplessly within 20 seconds.
